Meet Katherine Myles 💃
Katherine Myles is a freelance social media manager online and an inspirational dance instructor based in Arizona offline. With a bachelor’s degree in strategic communications, Katherine is known for her creative communication skills and strong eye for design.
She supports clients by helping manage their brand while being thoughtful, friendly, and funny. At the same time, she is teaching ballet and creative movement and also forming a nonprofit: the Oklahoma Center of Racial Equity and Justice. Nothing is impossible as long as you smile, dance, and have fun!
She enjoys bringing together creativity, dance, and social justice advocacy.

Introduction 👋
My name is Katherine Myles. My pronouns are she/her/we, and I am a dance instructor, creative strategist, nonprofit co-founder and astrologist. I have been working for myself since July of 2020. When I was in high school, I went to an International Baccalaureate and performing arts high school called Classen School of Advanced Studies. The International Baccalaureate program would really get started for junior and senior year.
Creative Change of Pace (♡°▽°♡)
I changed my major to an art major visual art major at school. And then I guess from there, I just kind of had that idea of “I know I'm really creative”, “I know I'm really smart” and I know, “smart people make the money”, or you go into a field where you can make money, that's how you succeed. But I always just had that feeling of, it's not the only way. And I think this was before you could get onto social media and showcase our talents and go viral and blow up like that. But I knew that it was possible.
So I really wanted to take my first year to learn, ask questions, and hear about other people's different experiences. Someone told me along the way that, someone had told them, that “if your business is the same as it was, when you started, then it's not a good business, or you're not growing or you're not evolving, you're not changing, you're not putting enough into it to make it expand”.
And that really stuck with me because when I first started, I would take a very, you know, “what do you need approach?” and “how can I fit myself in to help you from there” and then go from there together. And what I've learned since I started doing that was, you know, I am also a professional and I do have expertise and I do know what I'm talking about.
So my pivot has been getting comfortable and acknowledging that when I show up in a client meeting, when I show up for work, that I am able to come in with a sense of authority, because I do know what I'm talking about. I do have training, I do have education. So far those who I've worked with, don't have that same experience, and that's why they're coming to work with me. So I'm really still in that “pivot transition mode”, but I'm turning the corner and it's really exciting to have found that self in me to be able to say, “hang on, it's okay, you can do this” and now it's time to go do that.
